Images of Thimpu

Thimpu was full of interesting places and sights…..

This is the architecture of the city.

The holy memorial chorten was very busy with worshippers circumambulating in a clockwise direction.

The ladies weaving their intricate patterns.

The 150 foot high Buddha dominates the hillside.  Inside are up to 100,000 small, individual Buddha statues.

The archers shoot at small targets 150 metres away – barely visible to most people.
