Morzine in Winter

A few days in Lausanne

As the skiing has finished in Morzine and Avoriaz, we decided to have a couple of days in the beautiful city of Lausanne.

Back to Annecy Lake

We went to Annecy with Mark and Julie and went on the Lake in brilliant sunshine.

There is a wonderful waterfall at Nyon, which is at the end of a walk through the woods

     

Morzine is becoming Spring-like with lots of snowmelt, but the “Christmas” lights are still on!

After a season of akiing we turned to other activities – walking at Montriond Lake

After a four mile walk we got to the top of the Nyon Valley through the snow

We had a lovely visit to Annecy with Wendy and Tony

Not us – but we saw this guy from the top of Mossettes.

Rome was enjoyable – especially the rugby

Chamonix was very spectacular – as ever

February had some strange cloud conditions and was quite cold.

January in Morzine – Good for Sun

The weather in January tends to be sunny but this year has not been particularly cold.  However there have been some clouds making interesting views:

When we got to Morzine it had already been snowing. So the scenery was fantastic:

We travelled down through France on 30 November/1 December staying at the wonderful Abbaye de la Bussiere, near Beaune….

                   

….and woke up to some beautiful snowy scenery
